Every time I think about going back to China I am so overwhelmed with emotion. I really don't know how I kept from breaking down at the civil affairs office in Guangzhou waiting for Elizabeth. Standing there knowing the little girl whose picture you've looked at every single day for four months is actually behind that curtain is amazing! Your heart races while you wait not so patiently for your name to be called knowing you will finally actually be touching the skin of that little one and look into her eyes for the first time. Wow! It just can't be described. I remember crying before names started being called and yet somehow I knew it was best to remain calm when Elizabeth (Lian Xia Yu) emerged from behind that "magical" curtain. The wait this time has been so much harder! Even knowing how much closer we are than we were in January doesn't make it easier. I know though once we are there it not only will have been worth it, but it will seem to have come quickly.
