To help me not run out of topics to post about I decided to make some posts on some of the places we plan to visit. I'm starting with The Forbidden City since Chris and I watched an interesting show last week called "Secrets of The Forbidden City". We both agreed that after watching it we will look at this historical landmark in a completely different light. This maze of structures were the imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It served as the home of the emperor and his family and household. Building took place between 1406 and 1420 and the structure consists of 980 surviving buildings and 8,707 rooms covering 7,800,000 square feet. As you can imagine touring this huge area will probably be a little tiring but we are looking forward to it.
