The Summer Palace

Next we'll move on to The Summer Palace. This is the second home of the emperor for when he wanted to get away from The Forbidden City. It is situated on Longevity Hill and on the manmade Kunming Lake. It consists of many palaces, gardens and other classical - style structures. Construction began in 1750 during the Qing Dynasty and was completed 15 years later.
