This Week???

The thoughts that are running through my head today: Will I see my daughter's face? What will she look like? How old will she be? What part of China is she in? Is she living with a foster family or in the orphanage? How old was she when she was found? Will she have dark hair and dark eyes or will she be a blue - eyed blonde? Yes, not usually a question you ask yourself when you are adopting from China, but we are open to a child with albinism. Hair color can vary from white to strawberry blonde and eye color can be light brown to light blue. Lately I have become very much enamored by these children. I find them beautiful and despite any sight issues I understand that the vast majority adjust quite well and use other senses to make up for not perfect eyesight. If left in China these children are almost always shunned and not given the same opportunities other children would have. That breaks my heart in the same way that I know Elizabeth's need leads to the same type of discrimination. So there you have it.
